The newly established Tobin Center for the Performing Arts is an adaptive reuse of the historic Spanish Mission–style Municipal Auditorium. Inside, the Tobin Center’s social epicenter is the McCombs Grand Lobby, a towering space at the intersection of the historic building and new construction. Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design designed the lighting scheme for the luminous space using EcoSpec® Linear INT and EcoSpec® Linear HP INT fixtures to accent the voluminous space of undulating curves and textures. These innovative linear fixtures are thin and discreet while providing a seamless, consistent illumination without any shadowing to keep all the attention on the architecture and interiors, rather than the lighting fixtures themselves.
