芸術とデザインの融合：コンラッド大阪が豪勢な照明を次の次元へと昇華
SORAAは、揺るぎない芸術的要素とデザインセンスを取り入れた照明プロジェクトに欠かせない照明器具として、常にその存在感を放ってきました。そのため、世界に名を馳せる照明デザイン会社のワークテクトから、視覚芸術とデザインを融合させた新しいホテル照明プロジェクトの話が上がった時に、当社は二つ返事で快諾しました。 コンラッド大阪は2017年6月に開業した、大阪市梅田・難波地区の中央に位置する5つ星ホテルです。40階建てのコンラッドは、街並みを一望することのできる立地の良さを誇りますが、真の魅力は、ビジュアルアートと建築要素の見事な調和。 照明デザイナーであり、ワークテクト創業者である金田篤士氏とのインタビューを経て、“照明を通した、芸術とデザインをシームレスに融合する空間作り”の始発点、つまり、そのインスピレーションをうかがい知ることができました。 コンラッド大阪のプロジェクトにおいて、他社ではなくSORAAをお選びになった理由をお聞かせ願えますか？ コンラッド大阪のインテリアデザインは、現代美術館にでもいるような気分を味わわせてくれる様々な作品で構成されています。私たちがそのような作品に対して完璧な照明を確保するために、SORAAランプが最適だったのです。 コンラッド大阪のデザインのインスピレーションをお聞かせくだい。 ホテルのインテリアデザインのコンセプトは「Your Address in the Sky -雲をつきぬけて-」でした。 水、 空、 火、 星という自然の要素が各エリアのテーマです。私たちはこれらの要素に着想を得て、どのように照明がそれらに呼応する特別な雰囲気や感覚をもたらし、人々に“没入の時”を提供することができるのか、考えました。 ホテル内の建築要素や芸術を強調するために、どのように光をお使いになられましたか？ 空のような照明環境を作り出し、浮遊しているかのような雰囲気を創出するために、丁寧に照明器具を設置することで、物体を照らし、影をある程度取り除きました。例えば、入り口の作品の周りにあるアップライトは、水晶ビーズを下から上にレンダリングし、無重力に見えるように演出しています。 光は場の“空気感”を変えることができると思いますか？もしそうであれば、どのようにして変えられるのでしょうか？ 感情、精神状態、考え方など…意識的にも無意識的にも、光は、確実に、人々による環境の認識の仕方を変えることができます。繊細な芸術作品に適切な方法で照明が当てられている場合、焦点となる光は、作品の材料や質感を明らかにし、見る者は、審美的な真実に“触れ”…驚嘆し、また感動することができるのです。周囲の照明のために、光が滑らかにかつ微妙に変化するとき、それは時の移り変わりと季節の流れと調和し、人間本来の本能は、光に反応し、それを深く感じます。 コンラッドホテルの中でも一押しの照明デザインはございますか？また、それをお選びになった理由をお教えください。 入り口で照明を浴びる、『Fu / Rai』でしょう。作品の漂うような感覚は、周囲に隠されたアップライトにより表現されています。最初は難題でしたが、最終的に出来上がった効果は本当に魅力的で、成功裏に終わったと言えるでしょう。 金田篤士氏は、ワークテクトの創業者、代表取締役およびデザイナーです。あわせて、IALD、一般社団法人照明学会の会員でもあり、世界中の照明プロジェクトに携わってきた経歴を誇ります。
